HAMILTON – Andrew Pastoric (Oakville, Ont.) will return to McMaster for his sophomore year on the men’s soccer team after helping the Oakville Soccer Club U21 team prevail over the Forest City London Reserves 1-0 to win the 2009 Ontario Cup at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan.

The team was undefeated in the Ontario Soccer League U21 category heading into the Championship.

In the 43rd minute Evan James found the open side of the Forest City net and Oakville claimed a 1-0 lead heading into the half that they held on to until the final whistle.

Coach Neil Brown told North Oakville Today, “It was an amazing game and the boys played extremely well… every player on this team could start the game, every week it’s a hard choice but a great position to be in.”

Pastoric, a second year commerce student, played in 14 games for the Marauders last season.

The Oavkille co-captain will help strengthen the Marauders' defence when the team kicks off the 2009 OUA season on September 10 in Guelph against the Gryphons at 6:15 p.m.
